Gracefulness

The Hot Patterns Three Graces T Shirt is a beautiful design. When I saw the pattern envelope, I fell in love and had to have it! This is reminiscent (although very different) from the Burda Twist Shirt which was the darling of Pattern Review reviewers a few years back. (I think it was April, 2005). This is better than that one, though!

I used a very lightweight rayon lycra knit, from Metro Textiles. I chose this knit because I wanted the maximum drape in the front. Trudy's video on You Tube helped me figure out how the front is draped. Draping it on a dress form is definitely the way to go. On the flat, I found it to be incomprehensible!

The pattern is drafted beautifully. I think this will be a repeat-performer for me! And best yet, there are two other versions of this top (a simple cowl and a crossover) included in the envelope.

Next time I make this, I'll go a little heavier with the knit. This is just a bit transparent, and I do think just a bit more weight would be a good thing. The deep hem, as designed, does help with creating weight at the bottom.

Overall, this is one beautiful design!

That top looks fabulous on you. I wondered if it would be large in the hip, due to the fullnes in the bust, but it isn't baggy at all. Very nice.

Don't go heavier - go darker. Just like white denim pants can still show your undies, a white t-shirt will let too much show by virtue of the color alone (well, by vice really). If you go heavier with this shirt you won't be happy with the results.

Ilove it. Maybe this will be my first HP. Have been able to resist so far.

And how is the feline staff doing? Still being helpful and productive in the "factory"?
