The Marrakesh Express
Don't you know we're riding...on the Marrakesh Express! Don't ya know we're riding on the Marrakesh Express. They're taking me to Marrakesh! All aboard that train. All aboard....that train.
That song has been in heavy rotation on the Cat Fur Studio sound system lately.
It's because of this pattern. The Hot Patterns people have done it again, with their new Marrakesh pants.
I used a heavy textured rayon for my version, and it went together well. This pattern is drafted beautifully. Every piece goes together seamlessly and the design is faultless. I like the way the back crotch of the pants is drafted - in an "L" shape, which makes the most of one's rear assets, so to speak. (Others have commented on this before, too.)
The pattern includes full directions for creating a fly front zipper, which is incorporated into a combo drawstring/elastic waistband design. Nice. I also like the cute feature by which one can shorten the pants at the legs by installing tabs andbuttons at the side seams.
These casual pants are not super quick to sew, but they are easy to sew. Lots of good detail makes for a nice wardrobe basic

Cute pants and the tabs mean that you can comfortable wear them with flats or heels! They must have been an easy sew in your new well-lit sewing room!
Great pants. I loved Crosby, Stills and Nash...a touch of nostalgia.
I'd like to think I am too young to remember CSN (&Y), you most certainly are! But then the *album* (as in vinyl, or 33's as we used to call them, by cracky) is in the basement.
Those are nice pants. May have to try them.
The pants are great. I love the design details. The same CS&N (I never liked Neil Young)song was stuck in my head when my DD went to Morocco.
Ooooo, I really like those! I'm working on a pair of Razor Sharp pants right now and I agree about the sharp "L" that HP uses. It's very flattering!
Those pants are definitely winners for you!
Oh those pants are great. I love the tab. And the fly front zipper drawstring waist combo is something I adore, having had a pair of RTW pants with that combo years ago. Must go buy that pattern now.
I'm glad these worked out well for you. I have the pattern and plan to make some too. I have several pair of wool crepe drawstring-and-fly pants that I love and was thrilled that this pattern has the same combo. The tabs are great too!
These look great on you. I love those tabs - very versatile!
Love the tabbed cuffs on those pants!
Very attractive pants on you! One day I will make pants...
Those look great. I love the idea of the fly with the drawstring and the tabs at hem. Thanks for reviewing.
