Country Fair Wear

I made HotPatterns 105, a top, into a dress, by lengthening it and putting a ruffle at the bottom. My fabric is a cotton patchwork from Metro Textiles in NYC.

I'm wearing the dress today at the Allentown Fair. I cinched in its considerable volume with a woven leather belt.

The fair has all the old timey fair stuff. Freak shows, food (funnel cake, please!), rides, and games, along with baking and cooking contest displays, produce, and animals. Here I am checking out some old time corn grinding equipment.

I hope everyone gets the chance to go to an agricultural fair at least once.

You're right, it was the perfect dress to wear to the country fair!

I love country fairs! Unfortunately the last couple of years our big fair has taken place during the hottest and most humid of weeks, so I have missed it. I hope you had funnel cake! yum!
