Meet Smokey and Snowy!

The newest members of Cat Fur Studio joined us in April, 2011. They were just under 12 weeks old when we drove up to Brooklyn to pick them up. They were not quite ready for their social debut then, but now that they've reached the age of majority (6 months), they are ready to enter "society".
They are both males. The grey boy is Smokey ( Phineas Smokey Moses). The white boy is Snowy (Ellsworth Snowy Baby).

They are a breed called Egyptian Mau. This is the first time that Nick and I have adopted kittens. All our other cats have been 'rescues'. Nick (my husband) had done some research, and had found that this breed is known for being friendly and loyal. Our experience with Smokey and Snowy agrees with this reputation.

Smokey and Snowy like human company. A lot!

Smokey is the more active and assertive of the two. He loves to rip things apart. Smokey is more of a strategic thinker, in that he sits and thinks a while before acting. Snowy is more athletic and impulsive, and can jump very high. But Snowy tends to be more placid most of the time.
These two are brothers, and they are with each other most of the time. Where one goes, the other goes too. Smokey eats a lot more than Snowy. They are by no means full grown yet, but I hope through this progression of photos you can see how they're growing.

OMG, they are so cute! I would love to have a cat. But so would Hoover. He thinks they are great chase toys. So, no cats.

They're gorgeous! Especially that last pic where you can see the patterns of their fur and all intertwined with each other.

What wonderful Boys! I am sure they will be most helpful in the sewing studio. Please, don't tell Phred that the age of majority is 6 months - I am still telling him he is too young for those antics!

I cannot emphasize enough how much I am NOT a cat person, but they are pretty dang cute.

Are these beautiful guys spoken for? I'm looking for a Mau (silver preferably) and would love to know if you're local (NY) and if so, how to get in touch with you to discuss.

Many thanks! Helen B.
