Congratulations, Phillies! Baseball Champions.

The whole city of Philadelphia, PA is shut down today, in honor of our baseball team, the Phillies! Yay, Phils...World Series Champions! Philadelphians are wild with pride and celebration. Pretty much every business in the city (including the one where I work) has shut down, and people are lining the streets, hanging from lightposts, and perched on rooftops, jumping up and down to watch our modern day 'heroes' as they proceed down Market, to City Hall, then down Broad. Philadelphia needed this...a true bright spot of optimism for the City of Brotherly Love. Halloween is going to be a denouement tonight!

It is so exciting! Unfortunately, I had to be at work today. The whole day without a phone call or anyone coming in. Yeah, that was worth it ...

It's so great to see everyone walking around so happy, though. I hope it can last for a while.

I'm not at all a baseball fan, but I couldn't help feeling proud of Philadelphia and getting caught up in the celebratory mood. Maximum celebration - minimum destruction. Go, Phillies!!

Congratulations to the Phillies! I am probably the only person in Boston who doesn't give a hoot about the Sox or baseball in general, but I was rooting for Philadelphia.
