Travel Trio One T Shirt - Dress

I lengthened the T-Shirt from Travel Trio One, from Christine Jonson, and made it into a dress. I lowered the neckline 1 inch, all around, and eliminated the neck-band. I simply turned and stitched the neckline. My fabric is Interlock Twist Yarn, also from Christine Jonson.

I also made the Travel Trio Jacket from this fabric, and it is just gorgeous.

This fabric drapes beautifully, and has excellent recovery. I've washed the garment already, and it's no-iron and beautiful.

I get no compensation from Christine for writing about her offerings - just so you know. I just think they are faboo!

Beautiful dress - now I must get that pattern

I love the simplicity. When you have a good quality fabric, it doesn't take much to create a fabulous garment.

What a great dress! Perfect for work! It reminds me of Calvin Klein garments in the late 70s - early 80s. He had that whole simplicity look down and it just worked...just like your beautiful dress does!

that dress looks beautiful & so comfy :-)

i'm never brave enough to try just folding over a neckline instead of binding it... i should do it with a tshirt some time and see if it does stay folded in. i've always been worried it would flip out!

That is a nice go-anywhere dress that won't wrinkle so will travel well. Take her somewhere!

HI, Love the dress. Have you made the pants on this pattern? I have mine in a cheap knit - muslin test stage and cannot get the fit right. I have made several CJP before but these pants are huge and not sure if going down several sizes will work. Ahy ideas?
Thanks, Beth
PS love the Hotpattern dress, I have made 2 and love them. I like the velvet one - especially the band on the bottom - I thought it was a different fabric - neat idea.

Thanks for commenting, everyone! Beth, I have not made the pants to this pattern, so can not offer helpful suggestions. You may want to try contacting Christine directly. She is very willing to offer advice. Good luck!

Very nice dress. You have such confidence in turning tops in to skirts. I have yet to do it, but I still have your excellent directions turning the Jalie 2005 into a dress. I need to do it a lot, obviously, to gain some practice. And the result would be lots of comfy dresses!
