Draped Greekness

The "Mighty Aphrodite" from Hot Patterns made my must sew list.

Here it is in a very lightweight rayon knit from Metro Textiles in NYC. I am wearing the shirt with blue pants to show the contrast. I plan to wear it with less contrasting (khaki) colored pants. The knit is so sheer that one can see the color of the pants underneath, here.

I think I like the draped sleeve a lot - the pattern shows one sleeve ruched (draped) and the other plain. The next version of this I make will be in black or purple, and I will make both sleeves draped.
I have seen this drawstring feature on clothing for years - first on Michael Stars T-shirts, and now it's everywhere. I think the drawstring trend might be slightly beyond its apex but I don't care. I love this feature! Thanks to my dear husband, Nick, for contributing (as always) his photographic skills. Nick is very good with his camera - uses exposure settings, flash, and so on, to get the best photo possible.

Not sure that the assymetric sleeves are for me, but it does look great on you. Love the draping.

That looks fantastic on you! I have been holding off on this pattern, but I think I'll have to cave and get it.

I love all the design details, including the unmatching sleeves. Very chic.

That is so pretty! I love the draping - and IMHO it is never out of style

It's a great top. I would probably do both sleeves the same, but I love the options. I'm a huge fan of HotPatterns...I may have to give this pattern a second look! Well done!

Wow, you look great in this. So would my daughter. Off to add it to my HP shopping cart. Thanks for the inspiration!
