Kit Kat Pillow

I was rummaging around in my sewing room today, looking for a specific pattern, when I found a long forgotten treasure!

Back in the late 1990's, I attended a sewing/expo thing (I think it may have been in King of Prussia, PA) and met glass artisan Bonnie Maresh. Bonnie had a booth and she was selling beautiful hand fused glass buttons of various types. I bought several of her buttons, which I used to enhance various jackets at that time.

One of the products she had and I bought, is this. It's a "Kitty Cat" button kit. She gave two cat eye type buttons (basically green with a black stripe in the middle) along with a basic line drawing of a cat. I abandoned my mission of finding the pattern I was seeking, and followed my little Kitty Kat detour.

Using three types of silk/rayon velvet, some rayon thread, and a 16 inch pillow form, along with some leftover yarn, I made my Kitty Cat pillow. Don't you love that sense of accomplishment that comes along with completing a long-anticipated project? In this case, over ten years in the making-- finally...a Kitty Cat Primitive Pillow for my green leather couch!

What a fun project, and how satisfying to get it done. I notice it's purple, too. Very nice!
