Purple Blouse

I made this "Miss Moneypenny" blouse several months ago, and here it is for you to see!

I used silk from Fabric Mart. This was bought several years ago when they were having a "Anna Sui" fabric sale. This is a relatively simple blouse to make. Instead of using buttonholes, I installed 5/8 snaps down the center front. I get my snaps from Snap Source - really easy to use and a good result. Overall, this is a nice blouse, as it's close fitting under the arms, giving a slim look and it also tapers in at the waist. The bow at the bustline is a nice touch. Although having come of age in the workplace in the 1980s, I have to admit I thought twice before wearing the bow. The bow -- or should I say, "THE BOW" was something I remember wearing very early in my professional career, as a kind of ersatz tie for women. A "take me seriously even though I have breasts" look. Ha. Now, thankfully, it's more of a style statement, so I am going with it. You be the judge.

I feel the same about a lot of the 80s renewed interest, "been there, done that". Having said that I think your blouse has a classic style that is eternal. Beautiful!

Pretty! The bow doesn't look crazy to me, but I wasn't in the workforce when it was required. Love your print!

Absolutely gorgeous! Pray tell, what size do you usually make in HP? Does this style fit true to RTW or is it a bit larger? smaller?

I have the same pattern, but so far have hesitated to make it up. Even have fabric earmarked.
