Cat Fur Studio + One

This is Midge. Midge is a VLC (Very Large Cat). She weighs over 20 pounds. (She came from our friends Harry and Carolyn, who had to give her up because they were entering a long term care facility.

Midge is staying in the sewing room for now, where she can get acclimated to Nick and me. When she is ready, we'll release her into the greater living area, where she and Fremont will be left to sort out their relationship. It does not look like Midge will be ready to enter the rest of the house for quite some time, though.

Midge is eight years old, and 'talks' a lot. Today, I am spending time in the "Cat Fur Studio", working on a version of the Hot Patterns Cha Cha Dress (using a poly knit from Kashi of Metro Textiles, NYC). So I'm keeping Midge company. As you can see from this photo, she's interested in sewing, so she's already showing herself to be an asset to Cat Fur Studio.

That is such a cool pic. We have a cat that looks just like Midge and is also a large kitty.

Ha! Great picture, and love the name! I have 3 cats...unfortunately, one of them is going downhill right now :-(

How wonderful for you to provide a loving home for Midge. Empress Minnie Moo Chee Thunderpaws, a VTC (Very Tiny Cat) was my sewing partner for years, happily sitting in my lap while I stitched along, and letting me know, in no uncertain terms, when it was time for a break. Alas, she passed on 3 weeks ago, and is sorely missed.

Barbara, Midge is very impressive. It's nice that you'll have two. I'm sure they'll work things out. Do you know what Midge's title will be?
