Springtime Roses

Inspired by this piece on You Tube, I copied Trudy's HotPatterns Cabana T shirt with rose trim. I did not tax the brain with creativity on this project! But why reinvent the wheel? Anyway, Trudy is down in Florida, and I live more than 500 miles north of there, so it's unlikely we'll be seen wearing this thing together at the same time.

Shameless rip-off of a great idea. I didn't even bother to make it in a different color, did I? The white shows the shadows and texture so nicely, doesn't it?

Beautiful! I have been thinking about that technique since I saw Trudy's video!

Good job!

I have been thinking about this shirt since I saw the video. Was the technique straight forward or did you have to fiddle some?

Thanks, Margi. Making the roses was pretty straightforward. I had to practice a few times before I got it right. I found that when making the undergirding onto which the knit strips are threaded, it's best to leave plenty of slack in the thread. Also, I used heavy duty buttonhole thread.
